I sure did, in the 60's and 70's, and they turned-out a leftist in me.  Like many, I was a leftist in my younger years but I had a truly open mind and when I started paying real attention to current events and politics, the leftist point-of-view started taking-on-water.  By time time I hit 40 I was a solid constitutional conservative or classical liberal.

Since I never went to any privately run schools I have no way of knowing whether my education would have been better there.  I do remember having an "ecology week" in junior high where normal classes were suspended and we all went to classes about the environment. I don't remember any "free market" week or anything like it.

The good news is I was eventually able to escape the liberal pap of those early years and go on to live life knowing that I was the primary driver of my own life.  I didn't just sit around waiting on the government to make my life wonderful.

Exodus 8:32  And Pharaoh hardened his heart at this time also, neither would he let the people go.

Ted, most Young people are Liberals only as they get older and they let their hearts grow harder do they change to the Conservative party. In the above Verse It was the Pharaoh whose heart was so harden that even after seeing the power of God he refused to let the people go.  A person heart can become callused, because of greed, selfishness, hate, love of money, sex, love, and all of the passion of man. So each person is responsible for themselves and must listen to the inner voice and not let your heart become so harden. Maybe why you changed is you no longer can here the voice you heard when you were young and receptive to Gods love. Kentay
