That's nice for one religion, not practiced by everybody and never part of any secular law.
And if Leviticus in Christianity matches up with that same book in Jewish scripture, women had exactly half the value of men in the lord's eyes. Try again.
You are such an ideologue! The point is that marriage as an institution existed long before the medieval era. You can't change that.
King David begs to differ.
What do you mean, "King David begs to differ"? Which of his sins do you think demonstrate that marriage as an institution didn't exist prior to the medieval era?
Your fellow party members run around saying one man and one woman joined in marriage, then what King David had was not a marriage. It was many women for making offsprings and hundreds of concubines for his pleasure. If that wasn't enough for him he sent his most loyal supporter to his death because he wanted his woman. Like I said before men ruled the world and wrote the religion always looking out for men, because women were subservient to them. And were used for continuing their name and for their pleasure. As a matter of fact when King David was getting old they place a young virgin in his bed to make sure he truly had died as a man. Remember they didn't have **** back then so they used a young virgin to see if he could be aroused. That sure shows the disrespect they had for women back then. kentay
The Hebrew Bible is very explicit about David's sins, as you have documented. How, exactly, do his shenanigans demonstrate that marriage as an institution did not exist prior to the medieval era?
