If the polls are accurate, it must be that independents ARE behaving as you describe, but when push comes to shove are they really going to say, "O is a bad President, but Romney is filthy rich," and vote to reelect as a result?
I don't know whose ass you pulled that conclusion out of, but bottom line is that it's ****. ;)

Elections are about voting for the better man. Polls say that Romney's not the better man.
