Re: Any teachers here?

Okay, looks have a teacher here and one of Clara's parents was a teacher and one of my parents was a teacher as well.  That's a good starting point.

Our president seems to be of the mind that things don't get done alone.  We all remember Obama and the "You didn't build that!" line he put forth a couple weeks ago.  Obviously Obama thinks that's the way business works but how about the classroom?

I'm just wondering how the A students would react if their teacher told them that they didn't make their grades alone. What if the teacher said "You didn't earn that!"  What if the teacher then explained that only a handful of students in the class had gotten As and that wasn't fair so there was going to be a class vote to determine how the grades were to be divvied out?  The majority could decide to take away from the honors students and give to the low achievers because that was the democratic thing to do.

How do you think that would go over with your class mister Coleman?
Boy, and I thought only Woody posted disconnected stuff.

Here's the deal:

Businesses did NOT build "that", as in roads, bridges, sewer treatment plants, water pipelines, or the trash pickup system. What Obama said was true and what your statement here says is out of context fiction.

There is no *I* in "team", so if you're anti-teamwork you've got no business being in business because in your view that's "socialism".  It takes a crew to run the power plant your business depends on and nobody can do THAT alone.

No student earns his/her grades alone without a good teacher. If kids knew how to teach themselves, they wouldn't need parents either, and if parents were the only teachers kids ever need, then no kid can ever aspire to do better than their parents did. Ever.
