RWE, could you point that out because as usual you only point your finger at others because you can't see the greed and selfishness within your own party and what it represents that the Nuns are against, because they follow Christ. That's why I am a Independent who leans left of center and can vote for any person in any party. I can remember when the Republicans were once a great party until they developed the Southern strategy and it became a mostly white party of war, greed and selfishness. You need to try and point your finger of conviction 180 degrees and see if you can't get some conviction of what God wants for your life. I could never be a part of today's Republican Party and still call myself a Christian. That's because in order for me to be a Christian, I must make an effort to follow the teaching and words of Christ, in the books of Mathews and John and try as best as I can to love my neighbor as I love myself. kentay
Empathy and compassion are not unique Christian traits but rather traits developed by higher organisms such as dogs, some humans etc.
The fact a lot of people in some political and social circles sees this as a human frailty is only an attestation to their level of evolutionary state, not religion. Many people have understood this and in fact among Egyptians before the Hyksos invasion of Egypt about 3600 years ago may have been exhibiting a higher level of such development than came later among Greeks and Romans. The fact is evolution can go booth ways, a species follows what they are thought which is why in such circles as Republicans it often seem as if they are exhibiting evolution in reverse.
