I think Obama's response to the attack in Libya is brilliant, actually. Sending marines with drone authorization to patrol for militants and giving that info to the Libyan govt. with the expectation that Libya will attack its own militants, wedging a separation between militants and the Libyan government.
The security at the Libyan U.S. Embassy was held at a minimum by the ambassador himself, it turns out. Had he wanted higher security, he would have asked for it.
So, in this view, what was the strategic concept underlying the issuance of the now-withdrawn apology statement from the embassy in Cairo?
