WAS an ally under Mubarak, guys. No treaty or agreement has been signed with the current result of the coup regime. It remains to be seen if they enforce all the agreements made with Mubarak. Legally speaking, the old treaties are good if THEY uphold the old treaties.  Not if they don't.

Egypt's failure to secure the U.S. Embassy is Breach of Treaty Number One.

Wait a minute!  Yesterday you were claiming that the U.S. failure to defend the embassies meant that "the events were permitted"!

Clara says Egypt not an ally due to breach of Treaty Number One.
Carter says Egypt is an ally.
Obama says Egypt not an ally or an enemy.
Liberal foreign policy experts can't agree on Egypt.

I thought we were all supposed to agree that electing O as President would relieve the Egyptians, and all other Arabs, of their anti-American anger.
Where did you get the idea that Al Qaida would just roll over? Obama knows better--he requested an extension of Dubya-instituted wartime powers. At least when Obama gives his word he's going to bring terrorists to justice, you can take it to the bank....unlike Dubya.  If those SEALs were so damn smart, what took 'em all these years to find Bin Laden?
