One must never forget our History of what party was in charge when these bad things always happen. Doesn't it seem curious to you that bad things always happen when one of our two political parties are in charge. Savings and Loan, Iran Contra, 911, Wars of choice built on lies and now the most recent where they almost caused a depression. kentay

As long as you or thinkprogress are not writing the history book.  I would hope that they inform future generations that the democrats controlled the house and the senate and the republicans controlled the executive branch.  I hope that future generations are taught that the bipartisan deregulatory bill called Glass Steagall, coupled with the CRA and the push for subprime loans were major contributing factors.  I hope it is mentioned that bush, early in his presidency, did in fact push Americans to spend to stimulate the economy.  But I also hope it is pointed out that the one meager attempt to reform Freddie and fannie was rebuffed by the two you mentioned, Dodd and frank by claiming nothing was wrong with them.

If that is what you mean about history then I agree with you.

A reminder for kentay:
I fully support going back to ALL, that says ALL THE CLINTON TAX and spend policies that led to the economic boom in the second half of the 90's.
