You hit on why I resigned from management at TopicsBB. It's one thing to preach free speech even for bigots, but it's a whole other thing to promote them to management, too, AND defend what they've said.  I'm all for providing proof when a debate position is taken, but what those bigots were producing were things that were debates of the 1800s that have been long settled and on which no current debate exists.  In short, bogus.

And there's no legitimate defense of defending those bigots either. I usually can work with (and prefer) more than one admin on a forum board, but I never work well with bigots. Ever. Nor will I ever work with anyone who defends a bigot's bigotry, either.

Don, there are many reasons a forum board can go dead.  Consider the bigotry of your favorite friends chasing off any member of modern society as one of them.

yea -it was weird to see them pile up on each other. i suddenly felt like i had unwittingly walked into a den of thieves or a coven of black witches-yikes!
