Sandy Hook teachers would have preferred no gunman at all, actually.

Very true.  Nobody, other than the gunman, wanted that incident to happen.

You guys are protecting the gunman's "right" to be there in the first place.

That disturbed young man had no business being in that school on that day armed or not.  I didn't have any reason to be there and you didn't have any reason to be there.  Only parents, students, teachers, etc had business there that day.

You guys are protecting the "right" of that gunman to have access to his mother's guns and any guns of any of his relatives.

People should, and do, have the right to arm themselves with a gun that they own or have been authorized by to use.  They do not have the right to take someone else's gun, or any property for that matter, for their own use. One of the first crimes committed that day was when the kid used his mother's gun to kill her.  The murder was obviously a crime but the unauthorized taking (theft) of her gun(s) was also a crime.

Sandy Hook = NRA protected and evangelical approved version of abortion.

It's good that you seem to finally realize that abortion is the taking of innocent lives.  If the same tactic were used in the case of abortion we would be forever talking about banning the surgical instruments used by abortionists... especially the scary looking instruments. Fortunately the political right talks about the more sensible approach of wanting to ban the ACT of committing abortions just like we are fully in favor of banning the ACT of committing murder.
