Hey Mike
« on: September 11, 2012, 04:50:00 am »
Has anyone ever noticed how many children smile even when they are going thru tough time? Every wonder why adults are so cynical? Why are children so inclined to accept others that may have a different skin color, religion or culture. Which way would God want each of hearts to be like, children or adults, towards our fellow man? I think this DB tells us the answers because we all see the same news, the condition our country in and the world situations. Yet we all come to different interpretations and variations of what we all see, why? I think it's because we have too much I and not enough we. Because of our inherent tendency of selfishness, greed  and arrogance that children don't have and have not yet learn. I am not saying we should roll over and let other bully us or take over by enforcing their beliefs on you. I have never duck a rumble when another insisted on his way and never will. But what I am saying is I don't go looking for a fight and I try to be accepting of others religion, cultures and places of birth like a child would. I have known Mike for many years and we both respect each other but sometimes we get carried away and we both let too much of our self get in the way of a great friendship. I am sure that Mike will be back at some point after he has had time to think about why he quit. I know that he has a full time teaching Job and other things he involved in that I cannot say. It may have been that when he started posting here, he found he just doesn't have the time to post. And rather than half step he chose to stop posting for awhile until he ether finds the time or doesn't find time. But one thing I am sure of when he has the time he will be reading over the post we all post of this fair discussion board. That needs more middle roaders and  Liberals to balance out the so called right wing conservative. I will miss Mike and I hope he fines the time to share with us. I say this because my childish heart tells me to and not what my adult heart, might say. Kentay

You're living in a dream world Kentay.

I've seen many a kid pitch-a-fit when they didn't get what they wanted.  Yes, there is the rare child who keeps smile when times are tough but that's the exception, not the rule.

And no, I haven't seen kids be very accepting of others.  Ask a fat kid, or a kid who wears glasses, or a kid with a lot of acne, or a kid with a speech impediment how well they've been accepted by their peers.  Lots of these kids get pretty lonely.

Think it's just my imagination? Sorry, I wish it were but it's not.  Schools across the nation have adopted anti-bullying programs and you know how big a problem teen suicide is.

Infants and toddlers are accepting of others but kids as a whole, no way.
