While Abrahamic religionists focus myopically on Middle East affairs, even as nearly all other Muslim countries rise in protest and Netanyahu pouts about Iran, China does a me-too massive protest, but about Japan's purchase from its citizens the land they occupy on a disputed island, all while Taiwan sits on edge. And S. Korea also has disputed claims in the region.

Is any American paying attention?  Not only no, but HELL NO.  Just as Islamic radicals calculated that the U.S. would be stretched thin militarily, so has China.  South America and Africa next? China has interests there too, after all.
