first the u.s. powers that be were enemies of the KLA and then they weren't-no explanation-state secret. mmmmnnnnnn. and then poof! the KLA is gone. morphed into something else.
it's all about killing, theft, and redistributing wealth thru manufactured conflict where ever it is profitable to do so-shake it up so's you can shake it down. mind you -this area is a prime human slave trade area and route.
