oh, duh, got it. not that i think it a correct analogy.

mmmmn. looks like this was the original thought behind the capitalists promotion of the idea that capitalism promotes innovation, ambition, etc. good things. when in fact those things can all be had w/o capitalism. rewards come in many packages that the capitalists are too greedy to consider as real.

"Virtue and greed is inversely proportional" (Plato)
Greed comes about due to feelings of insecurity and inadequacy. If there was no more valuable pursuits in life than money/power we would indeed be shallow.
