Kentay,
You really call yourself an independent? Why? Based on what you've written you seem to be a rock-solid Democrat. You agree with the Democrat position well over 90% of the time. In fact, is there any issue in which you side with Republicans?
I just don't get this. Some of you people seem to think that if you aren't in complete lockstep or don't agree with 100% of Democrat positions, then you're independent. Nonsense, you're a Democrat. If total agreement were a requirement then there would be no Republicans or Democrats at all because nobody agrees 100% of the time with a political party. Nobody.
I generally agree with the Republican's domestic agenda but often disagree with their international policies and tactics. Am I an independent? Nope, I'm a Republican.
Wasn't you a Democrat at one time? I am an Independent because I have voted for Republican many times, but not any since your party went bigoted and crazy. Because as a Christian man I had to separate from that kind of hate because it's never been a part of my heart. I think that people who change parties are flip floppers and go where they think the power is and fail to stay and work within the party for change; because they were never true to the values of that party to begin with. People who flip flop are like are like calling themselves Christian and yet they do not follow the man teaching or follow his words who name they profess. They also end up changing their religious affiliation where they worship, (like Newt Gingrich) because it sounds better to them and they had limited respect where he was at. kentay

Republican Campaign Mantra:
We turned over a real mess to President Obama, he hasn't cleaned it up fast enough, so give us another chance to create a depression.
