The First Amendment:
Quote
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

The Second Amendment:
Quote
A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

You will notice that both the first and second amendments are laws that restrict the government, not the people.  This high-capacity magazine law controls the people.  It's the complete opposite of the intent of both amendments. In fact the entire Bill of Rights is about restricting the government, not the people.

Nice try at a premise, but that premise violates the domestic tranquility sections of the rest of the Constitution.

I remind you of what this nation was like in the 1930's when businessmen couldn't live without guns--businessmen like Al Capone.  We'll be damned if we go back to that.
