Ummm....you're the one doing the twisting, actually.

Cons claim that governments don't create jobs, job creators do, therefore they require little to no taxes...all the while blaming the president for the unemployment rate.  I'm flattered that you think I invented all the con talking points, but my interest in truth demands that I take no credit for con talking points. ;)
Umm Clara, let me tell you the same thing that I have told kentay and others like you for years.  I don't give a **** what "cons" say.  I will not deend what YOU claim cons say.  I will defend what I say.  So no I personally have not twisted ****. Nod when you understand.

So back to you comments.  On one post you claim Obama can only create government jobs (patently false considering congress has to appropriate the funds) and on anther you blame bush  (stadard tactic) for the uneloyment rate THREE AND A HALF YEARS after he left office.

I understand and respect the fact this is your forum but that doesn't entitle hou to hour own facts.  But damn girl, you are flapping around like a 20 knot windsock in a 50 knot swirling gale.

I say again, and as many times as necessary--I was repeating what cons say.  I'm glad that we agree: what cons say is FALSE.

Thank you, Woody!  :wuv:

Notice how Clara lies to distract from discussing the hypocrisy of her own posts.  I said no such thing.

Great diversion babe.  Same **** different forum.

A reminder for kentay:
I fully support going back to ALL, that says ALL THE CLINTON TAX and spend policies that led to the economic boom in the second half of the 90's.

I was citing talking points, hon. And again--twice so far--you show just how contradictory the talking points are. Now why would I lie about what you posted? I quoted it!

What I want to know is, what exactly is your theory that cutting marginal income tax rates somehow destroys jobs?

I don't have such a theory. What I believe to be true is that tax cuts have nothing whatsoever to do with jobs. People who believe that live on a different planet.

Do you believe there is any connection between profits and jobs?

You might want to take an Economics 101 course at your local community college. Tax cuts are a fiscal tool for shifting the aggregate demand curve to the right which increases employment. Tax increases are the alternative tool used for slowing down economic growth.

Let me add this.

JFK, Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, George Bush AND Barack Obama ALL live on a different planet.  And yes, so did John Maynard Keynes.

Drone response from both:

Tax returns. Tax returns.  Tax returns.  Romney rich.  IRA.  Tax returns.  Blame Bush.  Inherited.  Blame bush.  Tax returns.

Nope. My response as of today's Dow report is: Wall Street likes it. You don't like Wall Street, do you.

Then you don't understand the thinking of the market.  Volume is way down, they think that their may be a QE3and bank actions in Europe and as we speak it is down 2 points.  So maybe you should hush on the market.

Nope. Mainly because what you say and what analysts of better repute say have a wide, wide gulf between them.

Basically, you've said that Wall Street is dependent on government money.  Not that I would be surprised at that.

Not really what I said.  What the analyst say, and yes, what i am saying from life long experience, is that at the moment Wall Street is reacting to three things:

1.  Expectations of fed monetary policy in the form of qualitative easing.

2.  Euro bank relief from government money.

3.  Lower than expected manufacturing orders, poor unemployment and GDP growth, and companies holding cash until DC figures out tax policy before jan 2013.

If you follow the markets you also realize that trading volume is very low.  You also know that contrary to the rosy picture the administration is trying to paint there is much anxiety over the upcoming tax increases coupled with implementation of the health care law.  You can insult me all you like (making me laugh) but those are the facts of financial life at the moment.

So back to the point.  How about that 8.3% unemployment rate?

Like I already said, you'd best ask Mr. Job Creator Mitt Romney that question because he got the tax cuts for job creation for a decade now.

Or ask Speaker Boehner.  Mr. Boehner, where are the jobs?

Mr. Boehner, why didn't the House work on any jobs legislation and put all their time into social warfare stuff?

Now, before anybody claims that Harry Reid blocked them in the Senate, Harry Reid can't block stuff the House hasn't even addressed.
