The great debate that's happening across America is whether Paul Ryan is helping or hurting Mitt Romney. That debate might rage awhile longer with the punditocracy but there's little doubt that it's changed the complexion of the race.

Kirsten Powers' article on why Gen-X voters are turning to Paul Ryan is as good an explanation as there is:



If the average person were to attempt to read and comprehend the Ryan Plan to fix Medicare, they'd likely be frustrated and confused. If those people listened to Paul Ryan give a detailed explanation of it, they'd likely think highly of the plan.

Paul Ryan's gift is that he's able to comprehend complex issues at a high level, then translate that information into language that the average man or woman on Main Street can understand.

The other gift Ryan has is his ability to simplify his content without talking down to the people he's talking to. That's the biggest mistake career politicians like Al Gore and John Kerry made in their presidential bids.

Jon Cowan is the CEO of the centrist think tank Third Way. Here's what he said about Ryan's plan:



In the past, Democrats have demagogued the issue of Medicare. That's where the term Mediscare originated. Gen-Xers aren't frightened by Paul Ryan's plan. They're frightened by politicians who want to ignore Medicare because their political consultant is worried about them getting elected.

At this point, it's difficult, if not impossible, to villify Paul Ryan. Narratives don't work if they don't fit a storyline. Jokes about Joe Biden work because he's gaffe-prone. Criticism of President Obama work because his policies aren't popular with voters.

Villifying Paul Ryan is impossible for several reasons. First and most importantly, his explanations are measured and logical. Second, it's difficult, if not impossible, to villify someone who looks like a choir boy.

In short, Paul Ryan is a policy wonk, a great communicator and he's got an image of being the All American guy next door.

That's why he'll help the Romney ticket.

WBC, the Video above says it better than I could ever say it, please watch it all and lets discuss it, unless you're afraid to discuss real truths and real facts.   I think Paul Ryan Is a mistake not a help, only time will tell not opinion pieces posted by you and I. When they go into the Voting booth people who love Medicare like me will vote to keep the Affordable Healthcare Program. Most people know Republicans have never liked anything that helps the Middleclass and poor since FDR and Johnson got it passed.  They also know that the so called under 55 program of Romney-Ryan. People will also know that whatever the voucher  doesn't cover for their parents, their sons and daughters will have to make up for their parents. They also know that the Republican party speaks only for the wealthy and they also know it was Republicans who put us in this depression that Bush handed over to President Obama. no President in my lifetime was handed as big of a mess since the great depression was handed over to FDR from Hoover. Why is it always after Republican have been in charge if their Policy were so great are we always in a depression or on the verge of one?   I really feel if the Republicans win this country is headed for the dustbin of history.  kentay .
