I see very few ideas that have a constitutional basis.
A reminder for kentay:
I fully support going back to ALL, that says ALL THE CLINTON TAX and spend policies that led to the economic boom in the second half of the 90's.

That's why I said "king for a week". That's permitted in the week that you're king.

end corporate personhood

hold new elections

end all war, including the so called drug war-effective immediately

dissolve the cia and the pentagon

drop all oil subsidies and invest in truly green energy pronto!

close down all silly plastic gadget, and weapons of mass destruction making facilities.

universal health coverage-effective immediately.

invest in infrastructure-put people to work that can.

tax heavy polluters to the point they can't be in biz anymore.

place a cap on capitalism-say- you can't keep more than 1 million, annually, personally.

ownership of land will be only for if you are actively using it-if not used for one year-back on the market.

man i could write a book here, i guess. this is the short list. the why's i think are obvious.

Wow.  This is a monumentally stupid list with one good idea.

First the good.  End subsidies for oil companies.  I like that but I'm not sure they get much in the way of subsidies.  They get tax credits or deductions (I think) for dollars spent on R&D but then so does nearly every other business.  If they are getting real subsidies I'm with you, let's end that.

The rest of of the list is naive at best.

Dissolve the CIA and the Pentagon?  Come on.  Are you suggesting eliminating the military completely or just chopping its head off?  Either way, even I as an ex-liberal myself I never bought into the notion that you could just decide that you wouldn't fight back against an aggressor and there would be no consequences.  Ever see a rabid dog?  If you ever do I suggest you don't try to reason with it.

That is a great beginning!  :applause:
Yup, I second most of that, although I think we still need a CIA and Pentagon.  I could go with that if you also propose to reform the whole lot, then name them something else.

That rabid dog analogy is why we gave up on the GOP, as it happens.

I see very few ideas that have a constitutional basis.

Me too, but that hasn't stopped congress.  In today's world congress essentially passes every new law or spending program on it's authority to "regulate commerce" or it's authority to promote the "general welfare."  Making them identify one wouldn't change anything although it might make us feel good.

We don't agree on much politically, Ted, but we agree on these points. QFT.
But a "strict constructionist" judge that cons find preferable can't get much more strict than the wording in the Constitution itself, now, can he. ;)

Can we get a strawman icon?

I'll have to look for one--Republicans use straw men a LOT, especially in court appointments.

You should be able to find one considering you just created another one.

I see very few ideas that have a constitutional basis.

she said i was king-what do i need with a constitution?

but...setting up the cia to spy and torture people for big biz isn't constitutional

having a standing army isn't in the constitution either

the drug war is COMPLETELY unconstitutional.

turning a corporation into a person -unconstitutional

running corrupt elections is unconstitutional

allowing our leaders to jump into bed with big biz using OUR military to their bidding in order to subjugate and control the world's resources including humans for the benefit of said biz and a tiny elite  is unconstitutional.

you were saying?

btw...i don't expect you to answer...your way is to get someone else to try and tackle me, or run, or both. :rotfl:

Read my first post babe.  Then get back to me.  Or reframe and get personal.  If I amfeeling vindictive, you will lose. But, to get vindictive means I take you seriously.  I don't.

Again, read my first post and tell me what issue you have with it instead of creating a strawman which you are so good at doing.
