Republican Campaign Mantra:
We turned over a real mess to President Obama, he hasn't cleaned it up fast enough, so give us another chance to  create a depression.

White House advisers say the blame for the poor Katrina response must be shared by the federal, state, and local governments, especially in dealing with the hurricane-related problems in New Orleans. Bush defenders add that he was correct not to visit the disaster sites immediately because to do so would have greatly complicated the relief efforts on the ground.

More substantively, Bush refrained from having the federal government immediately take over the relief effort even when it became clear that the state and local governments in Louisiana were not up to the job. His aides say Bush was guided here by his experience as governor of Texas and his belief that such matters are best left to lower-level officials. "For him, it was a question of usurpation of power," says a former senior adviser. But his failure to act while thousands of desperate people, unable to find food or water, were appealing for help on national television erased his image as an effective decision maker.

Every hurricane season is a reminder of the Republican regime that was Dubya's.  George Dubya "you're doing a heck of a job, Brownie" Bush.

along with 911.

his war was his biggest crime against humanity, tho.

this was just what happens when the headless leadership of the biggest white boy capitalists put a 'plan' into... well-'non-action'. racism is such a useful tool. those levies weren't shored up for a reason. n.o. gentrification. chaos always makes money and for those who think there are too many on the planet-especially our brown bros. and non-christians-that's the win. they Love the fight twixt the jews and muslims-especially profitable.

Speculation circulating at this time is that even tho Isaac doesn't rank up there with Katrina, news about how it hits New Orleans will be in heavy competition with what transpires at the Rep convo, and because it's a slow mover too, it's news that will be covered for days just as the Rep convo compresses into a 3-day event.

Any of the cons claiming that Hurricane Dubya left no impact cuz he's ancient history, all 8 years of him will come back to haunt all 3 days of the convo...and if they have a problem with that, then they need to talk to God some more.  The party of God certainly hasn't been favored by God, huh.

How many people believe that the purpose of this thread was a memorial to the death and destruction of Katrina in the hopes of learning from mistakes OR a completely political move by kentay to keep Bush relevant during the election season as Clara and donni are doing?
A reminder for kentay:
I fully support going back to ALL, that says ALL THE CLINTON TAX and spend policies that led to the economic boom in the second half of the 90's.

There's no either-or about it. Americans don't have amnesia.

Clara, I doubt you or kentay  have any true concern for the people of NO.  You only care how you can use that disaster for political gain.  You are working overtime trying to tie every bush era event to Romney and  Ryan.

Wrong, Woody. Katrina and Dubya are inextricably tied together.

That's ok.  Dubya is not running.  Even Obama has abandoned that bullshit.  When you politicize death and destruction love and respect for you decreases.

As long as Romney runs with Bushies, Bush is running.

As long as Republicans are running, it's Bush's party that's running.

Please, continue.  Now tie Katrina to Ryan and Romney.  I want to see how far into the sewer you will go to promote agenda.  How far outside of normal decency you will go to get your candidate elected.

Let me get so e popcorn.

Come on Clara.  When you gonna stoop lower and tie Ryan to bush to the Colorado shootings?  How about you and norwayboy tie them to the Norway shootings?

It is a new game Clara.  Like 6 degrees with Kevin bacon you can do the same with Romney to dubya.  Clas and decency aren't stopping ya.

The only ties to the Norway shootings, the Tea-Taliban etc. is the right wing extremist views!
