I gotta say Paul was very persuasive.  More than all of youse guys put together.

But if we give him the job, can he stay focused on the economy without getting distracted by all of America's billions of vaginas?  Of that, I'm not all that convinced.  He's easily distracted off mission.

It took Tweety about five seconds to begin squawking his righteous outrage.  A few minutes later an NBC floor reporter was trying to interview Gov. Scott Walker but he was hijacked by Rachel, Tweety, Ed, and the Rev Al, all of whom were shouting and talking over each other, not to mention over Walker, who seemed almost bemused.

What a "news" organization!

Who the hell is "Tweety"? I keep thinking it's the Twitter bird, but what do I know.

Anyhoo, this board has slowed down to a painful crawl and I'm gonna call it a night.

Paul Ryan might be a powerful speaker but Dinesh D'Souza was on Nightline making a total ass of himself and he plus Akin managed to undo all the under-rug sweeping the GOP did with Trump & Co.  I gotta say they're not only grateful for hurricane Isaac but their "big tent" got turned upside down and now it's the "big rug", and Huckabee's not gonna let the GOP forget that. He's certainly not going to let the voters forget that since he's now a member of the liberal media.

Well, g'night guys.

"Tweety" = standard Internet lingo for "Tingles" as in "thinking of O sends tingles up my leg".

Oh come on.  Paul  Ryan is more persuasive than WMC, RWE, Woody and me.  That's can't be!

Huh?  Bill Clinton had a costly "hobby" and yet he got some stuff done so I'm sure Mr. Ryan will be okay.

No comparison. Clinton never wrote his hobbies into law. Paul Ryan DID.

Paul Ryan lied and now Tweety thinks that calling O "a Chicago politician" is racist.

Well, we're back on the same tired old abortion path with this thread.  I'm no expert on Paul Ryan's success rate at getting anti abortion laws passed so lets turn to that wildly conservative magazine Mother Jones.

Hmm.  Despite some attempts to protect the lives of unborn children it looks like he hasn't actually been very effective.

Also, did you notice the headline of that article?  Ryan has co-sponsored the "most extreme" bills.  And yet if you actually read the article none of the proposed laws are really all that extreme; especially when you compare them to the actual act of aborting the life of a baby.

As usual, the left is agitated over nothing.

On this, ted, I disagree with you.

Neither Paul Ryan nor anyone else has been "effective" with legislation to criminalize abortion for a very specific reason, and that is the existence of Roe v Wade.  That provides cover.  It's the reason I can happily vote for Paul Ryan despite my opinion of his abortion position.  The problem is that, if it ever appears that Roe is in danger, I am absolutely convinced that the American electorate will turn on the GOP and vote it out in order to protect legal abortion.

We don't really have any disagreement here. Abortion is here, and it probably is here to stay.  Collectively, the American public seems to be okay with mothers killing their offspring.  Why? I suspect it is because they haven't really given the issue much thought.

I wish everyone could show what truth looks like in as few of words like Jon Stewart does. Thank God for people like Jon, who exposes both political side, when they lie. It was not a great speach just lies and half thruth if you fact check what he said  kentay

Actually, it turns out that most of the fact-checking was a pack of lies.

None of Paul Ryan's positions are extreme to an extremist, so that's no surprise ;)  They are extreme to the rest of us though.  Consider this: the GOP's chances of getting one of their own elected would be better if they would stop trying to slide in reversals of established law about social issues.  Nobody trusts 'em much anymore because it's NOT all about jobs jobs jobs.  The GOP wishes it was because then they'd sneak in other **** kinda like the way they thought they could get away with bill riders that gave operation of U.S. ports to Dubai.  We don't forget that sort of sleight of hand that the GOP now has a long established reputation for.

Gee, I guess just you Fox and other right wingers say that because every fact checks says they were lies or half truths or he was doing the same things and lying by omission. No wonder Fox watchers are the least informed.  Actually I would love to see where you get your information from, you never post any proof other than what you say and I just don't believe you, sorry, so how about a web site? . kentay
