1.  I agree that making the claim that he is gutting Medicare is a stretch.  Did from the get go.  I don't think any state has requested a waiver with alternate plans.  What is a valid argument is that Obama is circumventing Congress once again and creating a law.

2.  Saying Romney is going to " wack" Medicare is pure speculation, along the lines that Obama is gutting welfare.  If he incorporates the Ryan plan, and has indicated he will, we have both posted from the same article claiming that out of pocket expenses will be about the same under BOTH candidates.

3.  To hear Obama speeches one is led to believe that yes, in fact government is the mighty savior of the private sector.  JFK, Reagan, and Clinton all showed that when government gets out of the way the private sector soars.  So did bush in his first six or seven years.

4.  The stimulus was a failure by the administrations own goals.  First, it was sold as a program to keep unemployment below 8.  It soared to ten and is holding steady at 8.3 or so.  GDP was projected to be double.  It has been less.  Shovel ready jobs?  Laughed off.  Revenues to treasury?  Less.  So yes, it failed.

5.  I don't think Obama is a nice guy in the political context.  Over his head?  Maybe.  I think it is more an issue of an academic unable to realize that his ideas don't work in the real world.  As Obama said if he didn't have the mess cleaned up in three years he did not deserve a second term.
A reminder for kentay:
I fully support going back to ALL, that says ALL THE CLINTON TAX and spend policies that led to the economic boom in the second half of the 90's.

Definitely love kentay. Love all the cons here too, especially those who insist that Eastwood wasn't an embarrassment to the GOP. Each time Clint made mention of "can't do that to himself" he was referencing the Dubya Regime's Dick Cheney, not Obama.  Eastwood might have claimed it was Obama, but it was Cheney. XD

Poor Clara.  She bases her opinion on how she wants reality to be, not how reality is.

Talking to yourself again, Woody....or to an empty chair.  The reality is that the only person who publicly told somebody to **** himself was Dick Cheney. Obama never said such a thing to anybody.

Woody, you're a hoot. Cheney was the dick who got before the Senate with an invocation of what a senator could do to himself, and nobody really forgot that.
