Diversity of Thought at the Democratic Convention

They have no diversity among anyone of color that says they are a Republican. The Democratic party is open to all people of color and have a diversity of Ideas, thoughts and feeling.  Kentay       

OK, kentay.  Between now and Thursday night, let's see how many examples of this diversity of thought phenomenom you can give us!

Convention opens later today.  I am so TOTALLY eager to learn about the "diversity of Ideas, thoughts and feeling" which we're about to witness!

kentay's latest bulletin from tpm seems a little light on diversity of "ideas, thoughts and feeling," which is, after all, what he promised us.  For example, I'm having trouble finding the scheduled "pro-life" speaker(s).  Where's Bob Casey, for example?

Hey, is anyone there going to go public opposing gay marriage?  You know, like the people of North Carolina did?

OK, here's some diversity of a sort.  Kathleen Sibelius is making a speech praising Obamacare and, guess what?  She's calling Obamacare "Obamacare".  Now, THAT'S diversity!

Look, there have been a number of impressive speeches.  Tammy Duckworth is awesome, I wish to G-d that she were a Republican.  The mayor of San Antonio gave a rousing effort.  The woman who introduced Michelle, an amateur, was great, and Michelle herself looks fantastic -- better than I ever recall seeing her -- and I think her speech is off to an exceptionally good start.  Her delivery is casual but expert.  I am really and truly impressed.

But I'm still waiting to hear a single diverse thought.  Help me out, old boy!

I see that kentay, as usual, started a bunch of new threads this morning, but I guess he had as much trouble detecting "diversity of thought" last night as I did.  Maybe Bubba's speech tonight will contain some!

I guess they are pretty diverse.  Well, if you don't mention God.  And, well, if you are not part of the evil rich.  Or a hedge fund manager.  Or believer in small federal government.  Or an oil tycoon.  Or don't see the benefits of government subsidized solar energy.  If you like less taxes.  Definitely not a wall street investor.  Well, they will allow you if you pay 37,000 a plate at an Obama fundraiser.  Or if you believe it is not the tax payers job to provide contraceptives, abortaficients or other means of birth control.  If you believe by forcing religious institutions to provide contraceptive items the federal government is infringing on first amendment rights.  If you believe in competition to drive down Medicare costs.  If you believe in the workers right to choose as in right to work states.  If you beleive public sector longevity costs are driving down state economies.  And if you believe that spending as a percentage of GDP is way to high right now.  Or if you believe that we can not spend our way out of this mess.


Other than that I suppose they are pretty diverse.

Well, kentay has been disappointing the hell out of me, but AT LAST we got a little diversity!  Bubba got up there and praised not one but TWO Presidents Bush.

And there are the Native American delegates. The one from the Cherokee Nation's presence is a diverse thought that Republicans never thought of.  Where are the pro-life Democrats? They're present and accounted for, knowing full well what a minority they are. Where are the marriage religion Democrats? They're present and accounted for, knowing that nobody else's marriage threatens their own. If you don't like gay marriage, then don't have one.

Look, clara, you're really just driving home the fact that the DNC has presented absolutely no diversity of thought whatsoever, aside from the rather loud opposition to G-d.  I'll admit, that was novel.
