The give and take of America
« on: September 09, 2012, 04:32:06 pm »
If you cannot feel the sadness, empathy and love given by a total stranger to his fellow man. Then I really feel sorry for you as you have blocked and lost the only thing that separates us from animals. It's no wonder we are losing the middle class so quickly, by not caring about the least among us. Because we have always been a stronger country when the middle class grew and the poor class decreased by having a way up, with real jobs paying living wages. I read this article and my heart cry out to help that woman while cheering that man who show such compassion while no one was looking but God. kentay

The give and take of America
Sadly, conservatives, led by Romney, Ryan and their well-heeled supporters on the right, will never understand or accept anything other than winner-take-all.

Republican Campaign Mantra:
We turned over a real mess to President Obama, he hasn't cleaned it up fast enough, so give us another chance to  create a depression.

Gnosisquest, I have read that article over and over and every time I read it, I get choke up. I just am so thankful that I still have empathy and a caring heart for someone besides myself. I do believe  when we are children we have a compassionate and a caring heart but as we get older our heart becomes harder and harder until you just don't care and think all people could have made it, if they had only tried. I believe a person develop a hardened heart or a calloused conscience when he knows the truth but looks the other way, when it come to his fellow man, the arrogance that he's better, his own greed and his selfishness . kentay.

Kentay what escapes you is that both sides agree that a strong middles class is what this country needs.  What you fail to recognize, and what you continue to lie about, is the difference between philosphies on how to acheive a strong middle class.  The difference IS NOT that conservatives want a weak middle class and liberals do.  The difference is how to get it.  We do not agree that higher tax rates ACHEIVE this.  JFK did not think so.  Reagan did not think so.  And yes, Clinton understood this also.  No matter how much you demonize those making more than 200,000 a year, a million a year, or tens of millions a year you still need investment, you still need business expansion, and you still need business to hire people.  When you raise the cost of investment you kill it like you do with any tax.  When you promote what you do you stifle investment, you stifle expansion, and businesses do not hire.

A reminder for kentay:
I fully support going back to ALL, that says ALL THE CLINTON TAX and spend policies that led to the economic boom in the second half of the 90's.

pffft! clinton's an idiot too. out of control reckless growth like a cancer has been killing the planet's ability to take care of us and eventually will kill most or all of us!

what we need is to slow 'grooooooowth' and work on innovation before we are in the position of doing it the hard way if at all. ever hear the saying-invention is the mother of necessity-desperation/need. why must we wait till it becomes so obvious and perhaps we can't turn back? are we really that stupid and short-sighted? mmmmn. seems those with 'strength' are. might is making right all over the world. how absolutely retarded of the masses to let them! i'm still hoping, praying for world-wide epiphany-we must begin(yesterday)to treat this planet like the living spaceship it is.
