Impeach Obama for being Unitary Executive that Dubya Was
« on: January 16, 2013, 01:10:20 pm »
23 new executive orders were signed today by Obama amid threats of impeachment from the loonybin GOP even before Obama put pen to page.

The list of the 23 executive orders have been posted in numerical order on MSNBC HERE and so far, it doesn't appear that Obama has exceeded his executive authority.

What's abundantly apparent, though, is how the GOP relinquished one of their time-honored planks of being the law-and-order party decades ago.  The GOP I used to belong to has become Frankenstein's Monster, with Frankenstein being the NRA, which bends over backwards to protect the rights that criminals shouldn't have.

The 23 points are a lot of nothing.  For instance take a look at number 16:

16. Clarify that the Affordable Care Act does not prohibit doctors asking their patients about guns in their homes.

So Obama directs some underling to crack open the 3,000 page Obamacare bill and make sure that there isn't a sentence preventing doctors about asking their patients if they have a gun at home. Check that one off the list. Yep, we're a lot safer now. Problem solved.

Personally I think a doctor should be able to ask a patient just about any question and a patient should be able to refuse to answer just about any question.

My quick scanning of the list shows:

1. There is nothing impeachable there.
2. There is nothing that will prevent another Sandy Hook from happening.
3. It should make the simple-minded feel good.

You had me nodding in agreement until I got to your last line...

...
3. It should make the simple-minded feel good.

The simple-minded were making noises about impeachment before any list came out; they were making louder noises when reporters were saying there were 19 of them.  With 23, one simpleton proclaimed that Obama was using children as a human shield.

The simple-minded are just getting warmed up.

the gop loonybin consist of one rep calling for impeachment.

What's abundantly clear to me is that Obama/Biden couldn't deliver. The GOP Frankenstein monster has grown by 1/4 million new members in one month. Americans are buying guns and ammo at a record pace. The Democrat party with their time honored plank of creating violent hellholes out of every city and state they control is causing more demand for concealed carry permits.
The Founding Fathers established the first Dept. of Homeland Security. They called it "a Well Regulated Militia."

clara, refresh my memory, what were you saying back in 2007 about the calls for impeaching Bush over firing U.S, Attorneys who served at his pleasure?
Zionism is the National Liberation Movement of the Jewish People.

I don't recall saying anything about that at all.  I do recall saying that Bush committed enough to be impeachable, including HIRING those in the Justice Dept. who would rubber stamp his illegal actions....only to find out that Cheney was more impeachable than Dubya for orchestrating it all.

And for those who continue to question the fact that I'm an independent who doesn't like Democrats because I don't support Republican ideologies, I'll repeat: The Dems are in possession of correct facts and Republicans have only ideology pie in sky fantasy.  Just because I don't like the Democrat Party (and refer to them as "Democrat Party" just as cons do), one is in error to presume I can be expected to drink Republican Koolaid.  I don't.

Frankenstein's NRA Monster's approval rating by the public hasn't improved, though. Last time I checked, the idea was to change NRA management. Here's a reminder that Michael Moore is an NRA member.

agreed 100%!!!!!!!

if obama seriously wants to do something about gun violence he would start an effort to repeal the single convention laws in the u.n., take the harshness out of drug sentencing, and legalize or at least decriminalize pot here. the drug war is causing much of the violence. most of the violence is done with handguns, so placing restrictions on assault weapons will only translate into things remaining the same in regards to most gun violence and crime, criminals being better armed than the avg. american, and many just hiding their munitions deeper and becoming more suspicious of gov't. duh!

i have no problem with better background checks and waiting periods but restrictions on the types of weaponry one can possess smacks of creeping fascism. are they really that fearful of revolution? dissent? maybe they should be. they ratchet up the fear and then when the people arm themselves because of this irrational fear of muslims that the gov't has promoted the gov't freaks and starts more gun control? what is wrong with that picture?

obama couldn't raise the ire of the repugs by holding bush accountable for the lies he willing told, and his administration for getting millions dead for that lie, but he can hound some kid to death and raise the ire of those same repugs by attacking their gun rights? i smell a rat! a scared stinky rat!

reinstate the mental health facilities in this country that reagan did away with, and stop drugging those seeking help with these powerful psycho drugs and treat them appropriately. most of the people that committed these horrendous mass killing were on these type drugs or were not getting ANY help for their OBVIOUS problems!

meaningful jobs that keep people together with their families under one roof would also go a long way towards making a more peaceful society. desperation causes desperate acts-seemingly irrational acts.

these types of exec orders would go sooooo much further than banning weapons or certain munitions.

and there is what i call trickle down violence-when our LEADERS consider violence/war an appropriate response to the problems of the world, they teach those looking to them to lead, that as well. so end these ridiculous, illegal, immoral wars against the poor of the world in order to control the resources that rightfully belong to them. how can we respect ourselves as a nation when we allow this theft to go on under the guise of humanitarian and policing efforts?
