Aside from the Senate and the White House, what other parts of the federal system have Democrats been dominating lately?

We need better salesmen. We don't any more plastic guys, old guys, or angry guys. Conservatives would win more elections if they put more effort into finding candidates that are appealing in all of the superficial ways. It would also help if voters got wiser but there is no evidence that's happening.

I don't know about the rest of you but I'm pessimistic about the long term prospects for the USA. Yeah, we may win some elections in the short term but in the long run I think it is much more likely that the USA will evolve into one great big entitlement state where industrious people are driven away and replaced by masses of listless people who are content to stand in long lines with their hands out waiting for the master to give them their allotment.

Let me expand on this a bit.  Industrious people will indeed be driven away because laws and regulations will prevent them from being industrious but power hungry people will feel and ever stronger draw toward government and politics because that's where the real power and riches will be.

Oh boy, I don't know.  Which country becomes the economic superpower or which country becomes the military superpower?  I really don't know.  I don't know enough about the world to figure that one out.

I think the USA will probably fall back into pack of today's European social democracies.  We will probably become indistinguishable from Sweden or Belgium.  Perhaps some other country will begin to pull ahead of the pack but I don't know enough to know which one it will be.

Or perhaps it will be a Muslim country to take the lead because of the sheer demographics of it.  If birth rates in the Western World stay on their current path maybe Muslims will eventually be able to conquer the world by simply outnumbering everyone else.

However it plays out, I'm not optimistic for the USA.
