Wow..... WOW!  That is a really harsh verdict...... a just verdict too.  Good for the NCAA.  I think they did the right thing.

While I will admit they should have ended his position.  I think taking it out on the school and the players is wrong

It's about time people put children ahead of money and greed, when outside of the womb. This was a good and just verdict. kentay

As shocking as this is, I agree with Kentay although I don't think money and greed and abortion have much to do with the matter, I think winning records, loyalty, and avoiding embarrassment has more to do with it.

But Don, rational people can differ on this one.  There will certainly be some innocent folks hurt by these tough sanctions but the leadership of the school effed-up and who knows how many young kids were scarred for life because of this.  In the end, football is just a game; a form of entertainment.  The players can go tom other schools.  The good this is that it is crystal clear that if the leadership of an organization fails to watch out for the welfare of children, and instead just protects its own, there is a very steep price to pay.

Ted,

I thought about this a lot last night, and I want to change my original thought.  The school should have protected the students and not the faculty.  I agree with your decision and the decision of the NCAA.  They should have protected those students and as harsh as it may be, the penalty does match the crime.

Maybe schools should take a warning on this and realize that they are there to protect the students at ALL costs

Santorum Defends Penn State, Blasts Freeh Report
By Zack Beauchamp on Jul 27, 2012

Former Senator and GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum (PA) has long positioned himself as a champion of family values, so one might think he would be the strongest advocate for children who had been sexually assaulted by trusted adults.
