Really?  Somebody from Microsoft came to your house, held a gun to your head, and made you purchase Windows 95?  Wow, those dirty sons-a-guns.

Come on, Microsoft never forced you or anyone else to to buy their stuff.  You have other options.  Apple, Linux, Unix, etc.  And let's not forget that you are perfectly free to start your own software company and run MS out of business by providing a better product for a better price.  You shouldn't have any problem luring employees away from the evil Microsoft empire because you will be paying living wages and your executives won't be overpaid tyrants.
