A Capitalist system is a system based on greed and a capitalist nation is a nation without virtue.

So tell me, since you are now telling me that capitalism is ok and a capitalist nation does have virtue stop speaking in generalities and get down to details.  The problem with the OWS movement was tat they had no details.

What type of regulation would you like to see where we remain a capitalist nation?

The first and most important thing is to get capitalists out of Washington.
Any person serving the people should be amply rewarded by doing for others and their salaries should be tied to the average in the nation.
Furthermore these people should not be allowed possessions beyond one home. No stocks etc.

Capitalism works only as one of the aspects of society, it never works when national leaders are also capitalists.

I notice you edited out the portion where I pointed out you change of heart on capitalism.

You are very confusing.
A reminder for kentay:
I fully support going back to ALL, that says ALL THE CLINTON TAX and spend policies that led to the economic boom in the second half of the 90's.

Have you been talking to my ex wife Woody?
Which part did I edit out? A nation based on greed is a nation without virtue and I stand by that. I also stand by what I said regarding a nation based on capitalism is a system which does not work.
A nation has to base its values on the people of the nation, capitalism is one small part of a working system, not its woof and warp! Greed has to removed from politics.

The problem is not Obama or Romney, the Democrats or Republicans.
The problem is that we have a Congress and Senate composed of people who sold their soul to corporations to get elected.
We have people running the country only concerned about satisfying their corporate masters and the people have all become expendable.
Plato identified the problem 2400 years ago when he said: "Virtue and greed is inversely proportional"!
A Capitalist system is a system based on greed and a capitalist nation is a nation without virtue.

We are looking at all the menacing trees our corporate news media warn us about and have lost sight of life and what is of real value.
We are manipulated by people such as Brothers Kooch that see power and wealth as the only human virtue.
We are ruled by those that see compassion and empathy as human weaknesses, sociopaths every one of them.
These people might be well advised to listen to what Egyptians said about 6000 years ago: "If there is an afterlife will you spend it avoiding those you have wronged in this life?"

Do you stand by that or are you changing it with your latest iteration of what you said?

I am seriously not trying to insult anybody but I am very curious as to why people who decry capitalism as the bane (ha ha) of society, and who's lives are enriched by that capitalist society that is based on individual choice and freedom choose to remain here.

Cool.  I stand by this.

I expected nothing less; our difference is then basically the same as the difference between a person that say's taking a crap is necessary in life and one who say's life is all about bowel movements!

Just man up dude.  Embrace the fact you think capitalism is the bane of society.  You used no qualifiers.  Don't spin it, don't hide.  Don't give me some mealy mouthed horseshit about how you mean unrestrained capitalism.

I did read it.  And post it.  You stand by your original post then claim that it is not what you meant.  I am posting according to your first post.

you will find woody to be quite the circle jerker, gnosiquest. and if he doesn't want to address something he pretends he didn't read it. and if he really starts to lose an argument-he just disappears. he is also fond of allowing others to speak for him and purposefully misunderstanding and twisting your words. he's a barrel of fun ::)-NOT!

Unrestrained capitalism has converted to communism, Chinese style.  And you're all for that. Who'd-a thunk it.

Well, that's certainly true, but I went thru a lot of trouble to talk him into coming here. I think he still likes Linc.  ;)

Thanks Donni:
Yes I see that, when a person elects to misunderstand so he can argue its either that the conversation is a fly-by or he looks for contradictions in the ensuing argument. Nice to get some input though, good to know others come to the same conclusions I do.

I really really REALLY don't want to live in a nation based upon Marxism-Leninism.
Zionism is the National Liberation Movement of the Jewish People.

I totally agree with you Coleman! The systems that work best are those that take the best ideas from all philosophies . There is no perfect system, yet there is hardly any system which has no good ideas.
