Each individual state, under the constitution, has the right to determine it's needs and wants thru the true democratic process of state and local elections, ballot initiatives and propositions. We are a REPUBLIC of 50 individual states. Texas is a prefect example of what this country is about and our liberties in this respect. So is California which is a mindset more of your liking. Or New York. You have the liberty to choose what state to live in based on issues. Not a one size fits all solution for 350 million people. Instead of forcing that one size fits all solution you have the freedom to move to a state that better suits your desires.
