Oh, you mean the corporation head speaking his mind? He's entitled to that. He's entitled to discredit himself with his words, which he did. And a community is entitled to withdraw permission for a discredited employer of questionable employment practices to operate in their city.

Everybody can say stuff, but everybody who says stuff is obligated to deal with the consequences thereof.

You elected Obama president when he expressed the exact same stuff.
The Founding Fathers established the first Dept. of Homeland Security. They called it "a Well Regulated Militia."

Not.

Sorry.

What does, "Not.  Sorry," mean?  What exactly are the discriminatory practices that you're accusing chick-fil-A of engaging in?

Brings the bigots right outta the woodwork, it does.

It's Bigots On Parade Day. ;)
Do you support government officials refusing to issue operating permits to chick-fil-A?
That comes under the liberty of a community to govern itself. The Constitution doesn't guarantee any business any right to operate anywhere. The term "permit" means permission is required. If you do not have permission, you can't operate.

That would be a "yes" to your question.
A reminder for kentay:

I'm talking about extending/denying company benefits to certain people as opposed to equal coverage; hiring/firing practices, etc.

Yeah, I aws a bit flummoxed by her answer.  Not just this one either.  Apparently she has done no independent research and is basing what her opinion o. What she has been told by others.

No. It's a statement of what the law is, as in, my support or lack of it has nothing to do with anything.

Wrong. It's what I know about bigot employers as a rule, from personal experience. They never leave their bigotry at home.

A
LMAO!  You didn't have a fuckin' clue as to who Cathy was, never mind what he said or did when I mentioned this earlier in the week.  Baby, do some research.  Government can not deny a permit based on personal speech or religious beliefs.  You have no idea what this is about.

Ummmm, read up on people governing themselves.  Even counties can deny permits based on religious belief.

Check out Louisiana parishes (what they have instead of counties) and the Commonwealth of Kentucky (wet/dry counties, among others). Townships have the same rights to self-determination as to who gets to operate or not operate within their borders.

Again, Clara shows she is ignorant of the issue.  Like kentay she is told what to think and what to say.  People like you are why this country is **** up right now.  Cathy expressed a personal belief that does.  Chick fila as a corporation has not violated any hiring laws.

You are the poster child for intelligence testing prior to voting.

Hey, how would you feel if because of your wacky personal opinions you were denied a business permit?  Not on the actions of your company but based solely on the basis of your wacky statements?

You would be pissed.  And dumbass, this is what this issue is about.

Oh my  god.  Do your understand the meaning of the constitution?

Please don't vote.  You and kentay go have tea or something.

Clare fully supports denying Muslims a business permit.

That would explain why your side of the aisle is against democracy (one person, one vote)--y'all wanna dictate to the rest of us.  Tell you what--take your argument to Utah, which has towns and counties that denied and continue to deny permits to liquor stores and tobacco vendors and see just how far you get with that crap.

Umm, now you are a liar.  My stance is quite clear.  As a matter of fact I am more of a liberal than you morons will ever be. I could care the **** less who marries who.  I could care less how stupid you are, what opinions you make,  etc.  in each case I firmly believe the govern, mnt has no right to get involved.  You do feel that they should.

If you support what has been done to Cathy than you ma'am are not liberal.

"I believe marriage is between a man and a woman. I am not in favor of gay marriage".
Doesn't matter what he believes as long as his business practices are not affected in hiring, firing or customer services.
So much for the land of the free with the likes of this loon as citizens.

What chutzpah!

"Our" side isn't trying to dictate personal views on religious topics such as homosexuality.
"Our" side isn't trying to dictate what sort of health insurance coverage one buys.
"Our" side isn't trying to dictate the manner in which one can express his or her political preferences.
