Seems to me Obama made at least a semi-palatable move on this issue with his Cash for Clunkers program. It's the best Congress could pass at the time, and we all know how much cons were outraged that anything was done about it at all.

Cash for Clunkers pushed 2010 new car purchases forward into 2009 at great taxpayer expense.  What do you think that accomplished, other than increase the budget deficit?

hey-both of u-lay off with the politics-blame and criticism of such a small effort doesn't help. the elephant in the room is that  greed is killing everything! capitalism has gone bonkers and cares not except for profits and growth, which is stupid when u accept we are on a planet with finite resources. then we got religion which believes (with absolutely no reasonable proof) we r to be saved.
