Anybody else feel that round-the-clock coverage of incidents like this are inappropriate, unnecessary, ineffective and possibly even harmful? I just don't see why this deserves such attention since it is such a random act and reporting on it from every angle possible still provides no clear means of preventing the next incident.
Let me be clear that I'm not calling for any type of government regulation of the media, I'm just saying that these news groups would do well to report what they know, and then move on. It's a big world and lots of important things are happening, having 400 reporters providing 24 x 7 coverage of the same isolated incident seems dumb to me.
