The US was the greatest country in the world for many years due to the fact it took all the best from the people of all different country when it was in its infancy!

Yeah, that was back when we were a predominantly religious nation and atheism was unheard of.
:bull: No; it was when you accepted facts, before you changed knowledge to suit your preconceptions.
It is more than a coincident that the nations that do best are also the most secular nations. Religion is based on superstition and wishful thinking and that is no way to run a country! The reason people moved to the US to begin with was because they could get killed in Europe at the time for not adhering to religious views. The distortions made by the Church now a days is an attestation to the devastation it cause.

The Founding Fathers established the first Dept. of Homeland Security. They called it "a Well Regulated Militia."

A reminder for kentay:
I fully support going back to ALL, that says ALL THE CLINTON TAX and spend policies that led to the economic boom in the second half of the 90's.

And you, RWE, do not hold an American position.  THIS is the American position:

You must have over-looked the line, "yearning to be free" It doesn't say yearning to take other people's money and bash their religious beliefs.

Is "freedom" the same thing as "liberty"?

It would be impossible to bash your religious beliefs if they held true; since they don't I get ticked off when people want my children raised in a society where philosophy is based on nonsense. Leave the religion for those that want it but don't try and force it on others!

You are confusing a religious nation with this nation that gives you the right to choose any belief system, free of government interference, free of a national religion, and free of adverse repercussions.  You also have the liberty to choose not to belief in a religion, higher being, or a creator.  Free of government interference.  You are free to teach your children these beliefs.

OK. Don't try to force your atheist creation myth on others until you can explain how all the matter in the universe came into existence and prove it!

PS.  You want to know about GOP logic as it applies to America, watch Ann Romney's speech.
Not nearly as good an example as Sarah Palin, though.  She's postergirl for GOP logic. And such as.

Joe Biden anyone?  Who did YOU vote for?  On the Palin issue you, the left, and the dems have lost ALL credibility.

LMAO!

So you agree with the left that Palin really isn't all that great. Got it.  :rotfl:

This ain't a Palin discussion.  I will be happy to go down your diversionary fork in the road on another thread if you like.  I will even answer your question there.
You forwarded Ann Romney's speech as being information regarding GOP logic, and I found a better one in Sarah Palin. Ann Romney's speech isn't nearly as informative about GOP logic as Sarah Palin's, for Sarah Palin was the GOP's good idea for a veep--Ann Romney's not running for any office.

Again, words of idiocy from an Obama BIDEN supporter.  Call it karma.  I will stick with Palin.  You are just pissed that Ann Romney gave an eloquent, respectful, meaningful speech that was well received and definitely conveyed what I felt was an excellent representation of conservative viewpoints.  I also recommend the speeches of Mia Long, Artur Davis, and Chris Christie.  And yes, our alleged norwegian can learn a little from Palin.  And John F Kenendy.  Ronald Reagan.  And yes, post 1994 bill Clinton.

But please, ramble on about Palin.  Your side can not run on their record.

Remember, forward, except when going back helps ignore your lack of a plan.

Not sure what your gripe is other than a severe ignorance of what it means to have religious liberty in this country.

My gripe is ignorance peddled as liberty.
If there truly was religious freedom you would have the Scientology Tone Scale beside the Ten commandments next to the Pillar of Islam.
Pretending you have freedom from religion while permitting some schools not to teach subjects for which there is evidence (evolution), while insisting on teaching subjects for which there is no evidence (creationism) is not education and not religious freedom but brainwashing. (Texas etc.)

There is no "atheist" creation myth, atheists come from all different schools and have only one thing in common, they reject one more God than you do!

Your ignorance of the concept of the US Constitution is also on display.  Each individual state, under the constitution, has the right to determine it's needs and wants thru the true democratic process of state and local elections, ballot initiatives and propositions.  We are a REPUBLIC of 50 individual states.  Texas is a prefect example of what this country is about and our liberties in this respect.  So is California which is a mindset more of your liking.  Or New York.  You have the liberty to choose what state to live in based on issues.  Not a one size fits all solution for 350 million people.

Instead of forcing that one size fits all solution you have the freedom to move to a state that better suits your desires.

But there we differ markedly; I do not believe any society has the right to lie to their children. Telling children there is real evidence for any God or doctrine is a lie.

Wait a minute!  Are you claiming the right to step in and order parents to teach their children your ideology instead of their own?
